Lessons learned: a good marketing is a must.
In my first game attempt, Make Dungeons, I thought when you make something good, people will come to you, which is a really wrong thought. Most successful games build a hype around their games before it is released. This is really difficult for small studios who has little to no budget. By studio, I mean me and my trusted, old computer 😅. Anyways... So what are my choices as a indie game producer? Annoy people by posting on their favorite forums and get downvoted to hell, or use what little you saved up to do a small advertisement. Both paths I tried and failed miserably. But when it comes to impressing people, I think problem is with me. Being an Aspie, it is really hard for me to find right words to impress people or make a good communication. One thing going for me that I don't know when to give up and keep on pushing until I find the right way. Until the day comes, I am in a deep ocean with no compass. See you next time. Cheers
