Lessons learned: a good marketing is a must.

In my first game attempt, Make Dungeons, I thought when you make something good, people will come to you, which is a really wrong thought. Most successful games build a hype around their games before it is released. This is really difficult for small studios who has little to no budget. By studio, I mean me and my trusted, old computer 😅. Anyways... So what are my choices as a indie game producer? Annoy people by posting on their favorite forums and get downvoted to hell, or use what little you saved up to do a small advertisement. Both paths I tried and failed miserably. But when it comes to impressing people, I think problem is with me. Being an Aspie, it is really hard for me to find right words to impress people or make a good communication. One thing going for me that I don't know when to give up and keep on pushing until I find the right way. Until the day comes, I am in a deep ocean with no compass. See you next time. Cheers

The journey that never ends

So, you want to make a game. First things first, you will need a concept and that concept must be doable. As I have no skill in modelling and animation, I looked through unity assetstore for models. I found my concept after seeing a wolf model. It was super good looking and realistic. I decided to make a game based on that model. A game that involves wolves and a realistic looking one. Then it hit me. I could make an unique wildlife simulator based around that wolf model. Now, why did I say unique? There are lots of simulator games out there. I wanted my game to be unique, so I decided it wouldn't be just models running their animations and numbers going up and down. I wanted it to be as close to realism as possible. When a wolf starts chasing a moose, there is no room for error. One hit will cripple you for life, if the wolf doesn't die immediately. Sooooo, let's start making the game already. I enjoy the process a lot so far. I hope I can make a game that everyone enjoys ...
